Tiropita

Breads, Flatbreads and Savory Pastries

Tiropita, or tyropita, meaning cheese-pie, is a Greek pastry made with layers of buttered phyllo filled with a cheese-egg mixture, served either in an individual-size free-form wrapped shape or as a larger pie portioned for serving. A version made with kasseri cheese may be called kasseropita, and a spinach-and-cheese version is called spanakotiropita.
