Polvorón

Breads, Flatbreads and Savory Pastries

A polvorón is a heavy, soft and very crumbly Spanish shortbread made of flour, sugar, milk and nuts. It is produced mostly in Andalusia, where about seventy factories belong to a syndicate that makes polvorones and mantecados, and under the name mantecados it is also a traditional preparation elsewhere in the Iberian Peninsula and other Spanish-speaking countries.
