The goose egg is a large edible egg from the domestic goose, weighing 120 to 170 grams, several times the weight of a chicken egg. Selective breeding lets a domestic goose lay up to 100 eggs a year compared with 5 to 12 for a wild goose, and the egg can be cooked like a chicken egg, yielding a proportionally larger, denser yolk and a slightly gamier flavor.
