Chicken and waffles is an American dish combining fried chicken with waffles, part of a variety of culinary traditions including Pennsylvania Dutch cuisine and soul food. Originating as a Pennsylvania Dutch meal, it is now also popular in the Southern United States and is served in certain specialty restaurants.
