Ledikeni is a Bengali sweet made of fried balls of chhena and flour that are then soaked in sugar syrup. It is said to have originated in Kolkata during the nineteenth century and to have been named in honor of Lady Canning, wife of the Governor General of India. The sweet remains a popular dessert in West Bengal and Bangladesh.
