Mustard Seed

Spices, Herbs and Seasonings

Mustard seeds are the small, round seeds of various mustard plants, usually about 1 to 2 millimeters in diameter and ranging in color from yellowish white to black, coming from one of three plants: black mustard, brown mustard or white mustard. An important spice in many regional cuisines, mustard seeds are ground and mixed with water, vinegar or other liquids to create the yellow condiment known as mustard.
