Galbi, also called kalbi or galbi gui, is a type of gui, or grilled dish, in traditional Korean cuisine, usually made with beef short ribs, though pork spare ribs or other meats are also used. It is served raw and then cooked on tabletop grills, often by the diners themselves, and may be marinated in a sweet and savory sauce typically containing soy sauce, garlic, and sugar. Both marinated and non-marinated galbi are commonly featured in Korean barbecue, and the dish influenced the Japanese fusion cuisine yakiniku.
