Coconut Sugar

Coconut sugar, also called coco sugar, coconut palm sugar, coco sap sugar or coconut blossom sugar, is a palm sugar made from the sap of the coconut palm's flower bud stem, one of several palm sugars alongside those made from the kithul palm, palmyra palm, date palm, sugar date palm, sago palm and sugar palm. This entry's own source, focused on defining the product, gives no production figures or origin history beyond naming it a sweetener used in many countries, and states plainly that coconut sugar has no significant nutritional or health advantage over other sweeteners such as ordinary table sugar or brown sugar.
