Miracle fruit is the common name for Synsepalum dulcificum, a plant native to tropical Africa known for its berry, also called the miracle berry, which does not itself taste sweet but causes sour foods eaten afterward to taste sweet. In West Africa, where the species originates, it is known by names including agbayun, taami, asaa and ledidi.
