Moorkop

Breads, Flatbreads and Savory Pastries

A moorkop is a traditional pastry from the Netherlands made from a profiterole, or cream puff, filled with whipped cream and coated on top with dark chocolate, often finished with more whipped cream and a slice of tangerine or a piece of pineapple. Its name translates literally as moor's head; because of concerns the name could cause offense, some retailers now sell the pastry under the name chocoladebol instead.
