A breakfast sandwich is a sandwich filled with foods associated with breakfast, most often eggs, bacon or sausage, or some combination of these ingredients between bread, a roll, a bagel or a biscuit. It is served at fast food restaurants and delicatessens, sold ready made in supermarkets and commonly assembled at home. Common variants include the bacon sandwich, the egg sandwich, the sausage sandwich and combinations such as the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. The breakfast sandwich is closely related to the breakfast roll.
