Cameroonian Cuisine

Sub-Saharan African Cuisines

The cooking of Cameroon, regarded as one of the most varied in Africa because the country sits at the crossroads between the north, west and center of the continent. Its variety reflects the ethnic diversity of the population, a mixture ranging from Bantu peoples, the Bamileke, Bamoun and Bamenda peoples to the Shuwa Arabs, together with the influence of German, French and British colonization. That position at the crossroads makes Cameroon a meeting point for the food of the north, west and center of the continent.
