Svele

Roasted, Grilled and Fried Dishes

Svele is a Norwegian batter cake associated with the west coast of Norway, fried on a griddle in a manner similar to a pancake. The batter is made from eggs, sugar, kefir and wheat flour, and the cooked cake is traditionally folded into a crescent shape. It is usually eaten as an afternoon snack rather than a breakfast food, served with butter, sugar or brunost, a Norwegian brown cheese.
