A turkey fryer is an apparatus built for deep-frying a whole turkey. Fried turkey is especially popular in the Southern United States and has spread to other parts of the country, largely because frying significantly cuts the cooking time compared with conventional methods such as roasting in an oven or on a rotisserie.
