Beverages produced by fermentation without distillation, spanning true beer and the world's other fermented grain, rice and sap drinks. Belongs here: Amazake, Beer, Boza, Chicha, Kvass, Palm Wine, Pulque, Sake, Tepache, Toddy. Does not belong here: a distilled spirit, grouped separately, or a grape wine, grouped under wine and fortified wines despite also being a fermented, undistilled beverage; wine's own long classification tradition keeps it apart.
