Half and Half

Half and half is a dairy product, most commonly sold in the United States, made by blending equal parts whole milk and light cream, producing a product with a fat content generally between about ten and eighteen percent, higher than milk but lower than cream. It is used primarily as a lightener in coffee and tea, and in cooking where a lighter body than cream is wanted, such as in some soups and sauces. It is not typically sold or referred to under this name outside North America, where similar intermediate dairy products may go by other regional names.
