Rigatoni is a type of pasta, larger than penne and ziti and sometimes slightly curved, though never as curved as elbow macaroni. It is marked by ridges running along its length, sometimes spiraling around the tube, and unlike penne its ends are cut perpendicular to the tube walls rather than diagonally.
