Pabellon criollo is a traditional Venezuelan dish considered the country's national dish, mixing elements from the Native American, Spanish and African cultures that intermixed during Spanish colonial times. It consists of a plate of rice, shredded beef in stew and stewed black beans, and in 2019 the Venezuelan government declared pabellon to be intangible heritage.
