Gethuk is an Indonesian Javanese dish made from cassava. The cassava is peeled, boiled and mashed, then mixed with grated coconut, sugar and a small amount of salt. Sugar can also be replaced with palm sugar, which gives the dish a brownish color and a more distinctive taste.
