Lontong

Lontong is an Indonesian dish of compressed rice cake formed into a cylinder and wrapped inside a banana leaf, commonly found in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. The rice is rolled inside the banana leaf and boiled, then cut into small cakes and used as a staple food in place of steamed rice; its texture resembles that of ketupat, though ketupat is wrapped in woven janur fronds rather than banana leaves.
