Lupis (food)

Lupis is an Indonesian sweet cake of glutinous rice, wrapped in banana leaves and served with coconut and a brown palm sugar syrup. It is shaped either cylindrically, like lontong, or as a triangle, and is commonly eaten at breakfast or as an evening side dish. It is sold widely at traditional markets across Indonesia, especially in central and eastern Java and West Sumatra, and is considered one of the signature desserts sought by visitors to Purwokerto.
