Koko is a spicy millet porridge popular as a street food and breakfast meal across Nigeria, Ghana, and Togo, and eaten as an afternoon snack as well. It is made from millet and other grains along with local spices that give it its distinctive taste and color; where it was introduced by Hausa-speaking people it is also known as Hausa koko, though that name is not used in northern Ghana, where millet porridge is instead called za koko in Dagbanli.
