Calentao

Roasted, Grilled and Fried Dishes

Calentao, sometimes spelled calenta'o, is a Colombian dish made from reheated leftovers such as rice, egg, pasta, beans and potatoes along with foods like arepa, chorizo and ground beef. It is generally eaten for breakfast, often accompanied by aguapanela, arepa, coffee, juice or hot chocolate, and depending on the region may be served with hogao; when topped with a fried egg it is called calentao a caballo.
