Huarache

A huarache is a Mexican dish of masa dough with mashed pinto beans placed in the center, shaped into an oblong form and fried, then topped with salsa, onions, cilantro, a protein such as ground beef or tongue, and crumbled fresh cheese. It originated in Mexico City and takes its name from its resemblance to the sandal of the same name.
