Novelty and Unconventional Cooked Dishes

Gathers the dishes that are known mainly for an unusual ingredient or for a surprising treatment of a familiar food. Watermelon steak is sliced watermelon cooked by grilling, pan frying, baking or roasting, and monkey brains is a supposed dish made at least partly from the brain of a monkey or an ape, whose existence as an everyday dish is doubtful. A dish belongs here when its own cited article presents it as a novelty, a curiosity or a reputed dish. It excludes dishes that are ordinary within a regional cuisine, which have their own groups.
