Zatiruha

Zatiruha is an Eastern European soup made with handmade noodles, a type of paste or flour soup whose name comes from a Russian verb meaning to rub, since the noodles are formed by rubbing floury hands together into pellet-like dumplings or noodles. It is considered a peasant dish, known in Belarus as zatsirka and in Ukraine as zatirka, with a similar dish called umach ashi found elsewhere; in Polish cuisine the dish is called zacierki and is usually served as a milk soup.
