Watercress

Watercress, sometimes called yellowcress, is a species of aquatic flowering plant in the cabbage family, Brassicaceae, grown in cool running water. It has a peppery, slightly bitter flavor and is eaten as a leafy vegetable and herb, typically raw in salads and sandwiches or lightly cooked in soups. Watercress has a long history of cultivation and use as a food plant across Europe and Asia.
