Mu Kratha

Mu kratha is a Southeast Asian cooking method that originated in Thailand, known in the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, and Myanmar as mookata and in Laos as sin dat. The name means pan pork in Thai, combining the words for pig and for pan or skillet, and the dish has been described as resembling a combination of Korean barbecue with a Japanese or Chinese hot pot. The Thai version is cooked over charcoal, and the buffet style dining concept built around it spread through the region as buffet dining grew popular in the late twentieth century.
