Casserole

A casserole is a large, deep pan or bowl used for cooking a variety of dishes in the oven, and the term also names the dish cooked in it. To distinguish the two uses, the vessel itself can be called a casserole dish or casserole pan, while the food is simply called a casserole. The same pan is often used both for cooking the dish and for serving it at the table.
