Meat

Generic ingredient

Meat is animal tissue, mostly muscle, eaten as food; humans have hunted and farmed animals for meat since prehistory, and it is mainly composed of water, protein and fat. This entity is the generic sense of the ingredient, used when a dish's own infobox names its main ingredient only as "meat" without specifying a species or cut, distinct from a named specific meat such as beef, lamb, mutton, chicken or ground meat already carried as their own entities in this atlas.
