It is a staple or luxury ingredient in African, Indian, Middle Eastern, Indonesian, Mediterranean, Pakistani, Mexican, Caribbean and Haitian cuisines. Per 100 grams it contains 143 calories and 27.1 grams of protein, and though classified as red meat it is leaner and lower in cholesterol and fat than both lamb and beef; a single goat yields only about 18 kilograms of meat, making it less suited to modern industrial meat processing than cattle or pigs.Goat MeatConnectionsSourcesComments (0)Reader Challenges (0)Goat MeatFilter Results6 entriesDish FamilyAllLatin American and Caribbean Stews, Braises and Sauced Dishes (1)South Asian Rice and Grain Dishes (1)South Asian Stews, Braises and Sauced Dishes (1)Southeast Asian Stews, Braises and Sauced Dishes (1)Sub-Saharan African Roasted, Grilled and Fried Dishes (1)Sub-Saharan African Stews, Braises and Sauced Dishes (1)CuisineAllIndian Cuisine (1)Indonesian Cuisine (1)Kashmiri Cuisine (1)Kenyan Cuisine (1)Mexican Cuisine (1)West African Cuisine (1)Era (Origin Period)All1500 (1)1700 (1)1750 (1)TraditionAllStreet Food Culture (1)Format/TypeAllLatin American and Caribbean Stews, Braises and Sauced Dishes (1)South Asian Rice and Grain Dishes (1)South Asian Stews, Braises and Sauced Dishes (1)Southeast Asian Stews, Braises and Sauced Dishes (1)Sub-Saharan African Roasted, Grilled and Fried Dishes (1)Sub-Saharan African Stews, Braises and Sauced Dishes (1)CourseAllSoup (1)Dietary SuitabilityAllContains Meat or Poultry (6)Origin RegionAllCabo Verde (1)India (2)Indonesia (1)Iran (1)Kashmir (1)Kenya (1)Mexico (1)Tanzania (1)Show ResultsBrowseCompareSelect all 6BirriaGoat MeatCachupaGoat MeatHyderabadi BiryaniGoat MeatNyama ChomaGoat MeatRogan JoshGoat MeatTongsengGoat MeatConnectionsUsed ByBirria, Dishes Well-attested Source Birria (Wikipedia)Cachupa, Dishes Well-attested Source Cachupa (Wikipedia)Hyderabadi Biryani, Dishes Well-attested Source Hyderabadi biryani (Wikipedia)Lebanese Cuisine, Cuisines Well-attested Source Lebanese Cuisine (Wikipedia)tier 3Nyama Choma, Dishes Well-attested Rogan Josh, Dishes Well-attested Source Rogan Josh (Wikipedia)tier 3Tongseng, Dishes Well-attested Source Tongseng (Wikipedia)SourcesRogan Josh (Wikipedia)tier 3WikipediaUsed By: Rogan Josh, Infobox main_ingredient field: Lamb or goat, alkanet rootView the SourceBirria (Wikipedia)Used By: Birria, Infobox main_ingredient field: Meat (typically goat or beef), dried chili peppersView the SourceHyderabadi biryani (Wikipedia)Used By: Hyderabadi Biryani, Infobox main_ingredient field: Basmati rice, Goat meat, Beef, Chicken, Vegetables, SpicesView the SourceCachupa (Wikipedia)Used By: Cachupa, Infobox main_ingredient field: Fish or meat (sausage, beef, goat, or chicken), hominy, beansView the SourceTongseng (Wikipedia)Used By: Tongseng, lead paragraphQuote, Used By: Tongseng, lead paragraphTongseng is an Indonesian goat meat, mutton or beef stew dish in curry-like soup, with vegetables and kecap manis (sweet soy sauce).View the SourceLebanese Cuisine (Wikipedia)tier 3WikipediaUsed By: Lebanese Cuisine, lead paragraphQuote, Used By: Lebanese Cuisine, lead paragraphPoultry is eaten more often than red meat, and when red meat is eaten, it is usually lamb and goat meat.View the SourceComments (0)No comments yet.
