Rod polse is a brightly red, boiled pork sausage that is very common in Denmark. Hot dog stands selling it are found almost everywhere in the country, leading some Danes to regard it as one of the national dishes. It is made in the Vienna sausage style, with its skin traditionally colored using the red dye carmine.
