Guava

Guava, sometimes called guava-pear, is a common tropical fruit cultivated in many tropical and subtropical regions; the common guava, native to Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and northern South America, is a small tree in the myrtle family, and botanically its fruit is a berry. The name guava is also applied to other species in the same genus, such as strawberry guava, and to the related pineapple guava; in 2024 the world production of guavas, reported together with mangoes and mangosteens, reached 62 million tonnes, with India accounting for 45 percent of the total.
