Illipe butter, also called illipe fat or false illipe nut oil, is a vegetable fat pressed from the nut of Shorea stenoptera, a tree native to Borneo, and is sometimes used as a butter substitute. It is distinguished from the true illipe nut, which comes from the unrelated tree Madhuca longifolia and is used mainly for biodiesel and industrial purposes rather than food.
