Lobster

Lobsters are malacostracan decapod crustaceans of the family Nephropidae, also called Homaridae, marine animals with elongated bodies and muscular tails that live in crevices and burrows on the seafloor. They have five pairs of legs, of which the first three pairs bear claws, and the first pair of claws is much larger than the rest. Highly prized as seafood, lobsters are economically important and are often among the most profitable commodities in the coastal areas where they are caught. The commercially significant species include two Homarus species from the northern Atlantic, the smaller Nephrops norvegicus, known as true scampi, Norway lobster or langoustine, and several small species in the genus Metanephrops, commonly called Pacific scampi.
