The sapucaia nut, also called the cream nut or castanha-de-sapucaia, comes from Lecythis pisonis, also known as the monkey pot tree, a tropical tree in the Brazil nut family Lecythidaceae native to tropical America. Its fruit is shaped like a cooking pot and contains edible seeds.
