Soursop

Soursop is the fruit of Annona muricata, a tropical tree believed native to the Caribbean and Central America and now grown widely throughout the tropics. The fruit is large, oval and covered in soft spines, with a white, fibrous, tangy-sweet flesh that is more often blended into juices, smoothies and ice creams than eaten out of hand because of its texture and seeds. Soursop is known by many regional names, including guanabana in Spanish-speaking countries and graviola in Brazil.
