American chop suey is a baked pasta casserole from New England and other parts of the United States, made from ground beef, macaroni, and a seasoned tomato sauce. Outside New England it is sometimes known as American goulash or Johnny Marzetti. Despite its name, it has only a distant relation to the chop suey of Chinese and American Chinese cuisine.
