Macaroni

Cereal Grains, Pseudocereals and Pasta

Macaroni is a variety of dried pasta shaped into narrow tubes, traditionally made from durum wheat semolina and formed either straight or slightly curved depending on the style. It is one of the oldest and most familiar pasta shapes internationally, most closely associated with the dish macaroni and cheese, in which the cooked pasta is coated in a cheese sauce. Macaroni is produced in elbow and straight forms and is used in salads, soups and baked casseroles across many cuisines.
