Rakott krumpli

Rice, Grain and Starch Dishes

Rakott krumpli, rarely called rakott burgonya, is a Hungarian layered casserole made from potatoes, sour cream, smoked sausage and hard boiled eggs stacked in successive layers. It was first documented by Istvan Czifray in his 1840 cookbook, the Magyar nemzeti szakacskonyv, and can be served as a lunch dish, a main course or an accompaniment to other food.
