Whipped Cream

Whipped cream is cream, typically heavy or whipping cream with a fat content of around thirty to forty percent, that has been beaten to incorporate air, increasing its volume and producing a light, airy texture. It is often lightly sweetened with sugar and flavored with vanilla, and is used as a topping for desserts such as pies, cakes, hot chocolate and coffee drinks, as well as a component in mousses and other prepared desserts. Commercial aerosol and pre-whipped versions are also widely sold alongside cream whipped fresh at home.
