Almond chicken is an American Chinese dish of stir fried or deep fried chicken finished with almonds, sometimes served with vegetables and gravy. It is traced to either Detroit, Michigan or Columbus, Ohio; a Detroit variant called almond boneless chicken, or war sui gai, is historically linked to the city chop suey houses and is believed to have been created by Chinese immigrants from Guangdong. It remains popular in Michigan, Ohio and parts of eastern Canada.
