Hotteok, sometimes called hoeddeok, is a filled pancake that is a popular street food in South Korea. The dish originated in Qing dynasty China and was brought to Joseon Korea by Chinese merchants during the nineteenth century. It is made from a wheat flour dough filled with a mixture of brown sugar, honey, peanuts, and cinnamon.
