Makkaraperunat

Makkaraperunat, Finnish for sausage potatoes, is a street food dish popular in Finland made of french fries and sliced sausage, either deep fried in fat or baked in the oven, served with condiments such as mustard, ketchup, onion, garlic, pickle relish, and mayonnaise. The mix and quality of condiments varies by kiosk, and the dish carries different regional names across Finland, including taksari, short for taxi driver's special, in Jyvaskyla, makkaraherkku, or sausage delight, in Rovaniemi, and sita sun tata, or this and that, in Kuopio.
