Namul is a Korean term for either a variety of edible wild or cultivated greens and leaves, or the seasoned herbal side dishes made from them. Wild greens are called san namul and spring vegetables bom namul, and on Daeboreum, the first full moon of the lunar year, Koreans traditionally eat boreum namul with five grain rice in the belief that it helps withstand the coming summer heat.
