Gujeolpan is an elaborate Korean dish, and the name of the octagonal, nine section wooden plate it is served on, consisting of nine separate foods arranged by color and ingredient. The foods typically include seasoned vegetables known as namul, along with meats, mushrooms and seafood, arranged around a central stack of small wheat flour pancakes called miljeonbyeong. Beyond its use as a way to serve many dishes at once, gujeolpan is valued as a decorative dish, prized for looking beautiful, tasting good and being nutritionally balanced.
