Klenat

Roasted, Grilled and Fried Dishes

Klenat, also called kleinur, klena, klejne, kleina, or fattigmann depending on the country, is a fried pastry common in the Nordic countries and across Europe and the United States, known as angel wings in English. It is made from flattened dough cut into small trapezoids with a slit cut in the middle, through which one or both ends are pulled to form a knot, then deep-fried and often sprinkled with powdered sugar and cinnamon.
