Niger seed oil, also called ramtil oil, is a cooking oil pressed in India from the seed of Guizotia oleifera, with a closely similar oil made in Africa from Guizotia abyssinica. It resembles sesame oil and is used as an extender for it, and beyond cooking it is also used for lighting, in soapmaking, and as an illuminant.
