Sunflower Oil

Fats and Oils

Sunflower oil is a non-volatile oil pressed from sunflower seeds, commonly used in food as a frying oil and in cosmetic formulations as an emollient. Primarily composed of linoleic acid, a polyunsaturated fat, and oleic acid, a monounsaturated fat, sunflower oil can be produced in differing proportions of these fatty acids through selective breeding and manufacturing processes; the expressed oil has a neutral taste profile and contains a large amount of vitamin E.
