Babi kecap is an Indonesian dish of pork braised in sweet soy sauce. It is a classic of Chinese Indonesian cooking valued for its simplicity, and is also popular among non-Muslim Indonesians such as the Balinese, Ambonese, Bataks, Minahasans, and Dayaks. In the Netherlands it is known among the Indo-Dutch community as babi ketjap, a legacy of colonial ties with Indonesia, and it is sometimes served as part of an elaborate rijsttafel banquet.
